Why is My Microwave Oven Inoperable?

Fuse: In place as a safety precaution, a fuse will cut off the flow the electrical should that current becomes too strong. The fuse protects your microwave from major damage when the current is too strong. Simply replacing the fuse is all that is needed if your microwave is not powering on as this issue is quite common. Sometimes, you can overload the fuse by slamming the door closed too.
Door Switch: The culprit for your microwave not working can be a faulty door switch. The door switch can be tested; follow the manual for instructions or hire a professional.

Why Is My Microwave Oven Sparking?

Internal Cavity: If your microwave sparks when in use, the internal cavity is frequently the underlying issue. Every time you use your microwave the that has food splattered and dripped that was left in the internal cavity will continue to cook, causing the fragments to burn and eventually spark. Simply clean the inside of the microwave including the top, bottom, sides, back, and door.

Turntable Guide: Inspect the turntable guide and ensure it is in proper alignment if the turntable is not spinning or spinning smoothly. Make sure to clear it all out of any food debris that is blocking the rotation.
Drive Bushing: On the plastic drive bus the turntable tray seats. If it is damaged it will prevent the turntable from spinning and will need to be replaced as over time it can be become worn or even cracked or split.
Carousel Cooking Tray: A simple adjustment is simple; the carousel cooking tray can get misaligned. If the carousel cooking tray’s motor could have malfunctioned or an adjustment does not do the trick, you will need professional repairs.

Microwave Makes Loud Buzzing Noise & Doesn’t Heat

Power Diode: One direction blocks the flow of current in the opposing direction, a diode is an electronic component that passes current. A defective diode and it could also be the source of the buzzing sound during operation as well as prevent the heating up. Replacing the faulty diode will repair the problem.
High Voltage Capacitor: It may be due to the electrical device storing the electricity, which is called a capacitor if you hear any buzzing, humming or notice that it is not heating up could be faulty.
Magnetron: With a simple test can determine if it is responsible, the magnetron could be creating the problems similar to the issues the capacitor is experiencing.
